The Sealant Made for Log Structures
Logs are in constant dynamic motion. That’s why there’s Log Builder, the sealant made for log structures. Stretches up to 500% of the original size, while still maintaining tenacious adhesion to the wood.
Since most logs move within the first few years after building due to moisture loss and shrinkage, it is crucial to start out caulking your log home using the right product. Log Builder stretches and compresses as logs move and stays elastic, ensuring that the elements and insects stay out of your log home for years to come.
Where to Use:
Interior & exterior wood surfaces or where a traditional smooth sealant sealant look is desired, including:
- Log homes
- Log checks and cracks
- Wood siding butt joints
- As a stacking sealant on tongue & groove new construction
- Around wood doors and windows
- Where wood meets chimneys
- Corner boards
- Baseboards
- Crown molding
- And more! Adheres well to most standard building materials.
Where NOT to Use:
- Surfaces previously coated with a waxy or non-drying oil coating
- Surfaces specifically designed to be non-stick, like Kynar coated
- Surfaces previously sealed with silicone – silicone and silicone residue must first be removed
Sizes:
- 10.5 oz. cartridges
30 oz. cartridges
5 gal. pails
Moves with Your Logs
Absorbs normal log movement and won’t dry hard and crack over time to keep bugs, dust, and weather where they belong – outside.
Traditional Smooth Look
Not textured, so dries smooth with a slight sheen
Paintable & Stainable
Paint and stain both adhere well to Log Builder. When staining, use the color closest to the finished stain look for an ideal match.
Freeze-thaw Stable
Stable through 5 freeze-thaw cycles. Okay to leave in your unheated garage overnight. Just thaw and use.
What is high performance?
We talk a lot about high performance around here, but what the heck makes a sealant or caulk high performance?
A sealant or caulk should be flexible, elastic, and adhesive. Many sealants are flexible, adhesive, or elastic. It is the combination of all three together that leads to high performance, meaning durability and longevity you can trust.
